Mountain Brook Vineyards
Award-Winning Wines of Distinction Crafted for the Discerning Palette
We planted our first root stocks in 2002. For many years, we operated as a successful grape growing business. Our dream has always been to create wines of perfect balance and taste. We began making wine for ourselves with the fruit from our 2012 harvest. We opened the winery in August of 2013. From the very beginning we have focused on producing the highest quality wine. To that end we have included in our winery a large complement of oak barrels. Most all are of French oak, some are from American oak made by the same French companies. We believe that an oak barrel adds a unique quality to the wine.
Since we have opened the winery all of our wines have won medals for their quality. We have won medals for our wines in international wine competitions in California and New York.
Chardonnay — Chardonnay fruit notes wrap around mellow oak and lemongrass aromas. Sun-ripened yellow apple precedes a rounded oaky body mid palate. Sweet vanilla and lemon flavors intertwine and float over a long acidic finish.
Pinot Grigio— Delicate aromas of handpicked, sun ripened pear. Sweet fruit that bursts mid palate is layered with honeyed notes of peach and pear followed by a gentle acidic finish with a hint of sparkle. Definitely a porch sipping wine.
Rambunctious Rose’— Aromas of a fresh garden & fruit salad with a pleasant round body mid palate coupled with an enticing, lingering acidic finish. Best served young and well chilled.
Merlot —Aromas of soft oak with cherry/berry undertone and a hint of citrus. Flavor of Carmel and ripe fruit layered over big body mid palate and soft tannic finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon — Aroma of bright fruit cherry, hint of oak. Big berry flavors, full mouthfeel and strong but smooth tannins on the finish.
Magis, Red Blend, Bordeaux style — Sun-dried raisin and woody aromatics. Fruit laced with nuances of tobacco and cigar box. Supple tannic finish true to Bordeaux style wine. This wine will bottle age well for 3-5 years.
