JOLO Winery & Vineyards

Tucked away in the “backyard” of Pilot Mountain, JOLO Winery & Vineyards is one of the newest estates to open its doors to fine wine enthusiasts who visit the Yadkin Valley.

The years of careful planning by owners JW and Kristen Ray are evident in every detail on the 80-acre property.  From the selection of grape varietals that thrive in the region, to the eco-friendly initiatives seen throughout the property, JOLO Winery & Vineyards is setting a new standard in winemaking and hospitality.

The estate is open to the public Thursdays through Sundays. It includes the JOLO Tasting Lodge and Barrel Room. Cox Lake, winding wooded trails, a bocce court and of course acres of vineyards overlooking Pilot Mountain.

JOLO Winery & Vineyards is currently accepting event bookings for weddings, celebrations and corporate events both big and small. Indoor and outdoor venues accommodate 2 to 250. Online at

Our Wines

Golden Hallows, 2015 –
This award-winning white wine blend of Vidal Blanc and Traminette is barrel aged in French Oak for just under 100 days to provide a little oxidation and a kiss and of toasted aromas. We kept it from going through a secondary fermentation to preserve some of the acidity to balance with the great stone and white fruit flavors and the nose is laced with nectarine, tangerine and toast while the palate is coated in an array of peach, pineapple.  With a finish of caramelized pear and light tannins and acidity this wine will go fantastic with hard and soft white cheeses, pasta, chicken and whitefish, or a bad day.

JOLOTAGE, 2014 –
This supple medium to full bodied wine has vibrant dark fruit aromas of ripe raspberry, plum and strawberry blending with wafts of rose petals and graphite. On the palate, the same dark fruit and hints of leather complement the well integrated tannins for an elegant and lasting finish. This wine can be paired with meats, game, hearty stews or to just be enjoyed on its own, and properly cellared, will age gracefully for a decade or more.

Pilot Fog, 2014 –
This rich and luxurious full-bodied wine is layered in enticing aromas of jammy fruit, chocolate, mocha and spices. This elegant wine has a supple and velvety finished with balanced tannins and fruit. This fine wine should be paired with steaks, braised meat, barbecues, hearty stew or to be enjoyed on its own. This wine will continue to age gracefully for a decade or more.
